Mames Babegenush

In Mames we play with passion and experience - we have played together for 15+ years and still do, with pleasure. We started out as a klezmer band and developed into an orchestra that we describe as “…the East meeting the North. Strong Scandinavian roots merges with the vibrant dance music of Eastern Europe, from the ambience of Nordic pine trees to lively weddings in Romania the music of Mames Babegenush gives a sense of both melancholy and ecstatic joy.”

I compose for the band and we arrange the tunes together. Our latest album, Mames With Strings, feature the magnificent string quartet, LiveStrings.

We just finished a 3-week tour in the US and are know preparing for our participation in p8 Jazz ALIVE in DR Koncertsalen, march 2020.
