About the songs
Fornesbreen ved midnatt
I found a picture painted by my grandfather of this mountain, Fornesbreen, which lies in the Tromsø area in northern Norway. Imagine how creatures moves, at mid- night when the sun never sets, here in the arctic circle.
Tidsskjul
In a weird story about nostalgia, written by Bulgarian author Georgi Gospodinov, the entire world debate which version of the past they want to live in, in the future.
The Absent
Someone who is not here, but whos presence is felt still. Nothing is lost, nothing is won, everything is transformed.
Yellow Leaves (For Yi)
For my friend, Chinese singer Wang Yunyi, who left this world in the summer of 2024.
Taqsim for Suhail
A Taqsim is an arabic improvised musical passage.
Ummi Rahat
A palestinian children’s song written by palestinian musi- cians Suhail Khoury & Rana Elian.
The lyrics translates:
My mother went out shopping She gave me a coin to spend I bought pistachios with it And drank a delicious tea Then I bought a watermelon I ate half and left the rest.
Vandring i Viranyos
A walk in a seemingly calm Budapest neighbourhood.
Sorte Øjne
Their eyes, left black.
Solen over Goldájavri
The sun over the lake where Norway, Sweden and Finland meets.
Prelude in F-minor
Comtemplating the cantor of St. Thomas.
